PROMOTE, PROMOTE, PROMOTE

Good participation and motivated sellers are critical to your fundraising success.  You can have the best fundraiser in the world but if your participation is low, you’re missing out on a lot of extra money!

As a fundraising coordinator, there are many ways to increase your group’s enthusiasm and participation in a fundraiser.  “Enthusiasm reflects confidence, spreads good cheer, raises morale, inspires leadership, arouses loyalty, and laughs at adversity…it is beyond price”

Promote your fundraiser at every opportunity.  Let sellers and volunteers know what the money is going to be used for and how much is needed to reach the goal.

Promote the incentive program and explain how the sellers can benefit from the program.

Reward your sellers

  1. Rewarding your sellers is important and keeps them motivated. Here are a few ideas:

  2. Fast Start Prize Program:  By rewarding early sales, you will encourage and increase participation.  Just enter each seller’s name (on envelope provided) into a drawing as they turn in their orders.  Reward your early bird sellers with extra tickets into the incentive prize draw e.g.:  Every child who sells a book of tickets and returns the money to the fundraising coordinator in the first week will be entered into the draw twice therefore increasing their chances of winning one of the 8 X $500.00 worth of computer games or accessories of their choice.  (Two drawn per term)

  3. Have a draw of some small prizes (lucky dips are a great idea) on the first, second and third days after your raffle starts to get your tickets sellers going.  Speak to your fundraising consultant about our rewards and incentive programs.  They will be more than happy to assist you.

  4. Competition is a good motivator!  Create some competition in your program by having different groups or classes compete.  Reward groups with highest sales with a Pizza or an ‘ALL YOU CAN EAT ICE-CREAM PARTY’ these inexpensive incentives really work and will increase your PROFIT!

  5. Individual Participation Prizes.  Strive for 100% participation and reward everyone that reaches a pre-determined minimum sales figure.  Don’t be afraid to use some of the earnings to reward ticket sellers.  You can also offer participation prizes…why not offer an incentive to the group who has 100% participation and watch your sales soar!  Ice-blocks or lollipops make a great prize and everyone loves them.  They are also very cost effective.
